We thought it to be time for another activity outdoors now that summer has arrived (if you don't consider today or the coming few days ;-)). This one is going to be active. Be prepared.

WHAT: Visiting Fredenborg Slot
HOW: By bike!
TIME: 13:00 - approx. 19:30
Meeting Point: Hillerød Station at 13:00
The Plan: To bike from Hillerød station through the countryside to Fredensborg Slot where we will visit the beautiful gardens and lake and also go walk around inside the castle since it's open to the public during summer (entrance fee: 50DKK). The bike ride from Hillerød to the castle will be 1 hour approx. and then we will spend around 1,5 hours at the castle. Afterwards we will bike along the coast to Klampenborg (approx. 2 hours) where we will grab some food to eat at Costa Esmeralda which we can enjoy on Bellevue Strand. Biking from Klampenborg into town will be another 45min depending on where you live.
This is the rough plan but we will see how it goes with the weather and such. In total it will be about 50km biking (4,5 hours) so be prepared for that. People are welcome to join us at Hillerød st. and then take the train back after we visited the castle or for instance take the train back from Klampenborg after we had something to eat if the prospect of biking 4,5 hours sounds too daunting. We promise not to hold it against you ;-)
Remember: Bring plenty of fluids (water!). Bring snacks such as fruit, raisins, muesli bars etc. We expect you to have eaten lunch before you come to Hillerød station, there will be no time to eat there. We would like to leave at 13:00.
Transport to Hillerød st.: Since the train schedules are all messed up during the summer period, you need to calculate some extra time. The E-line goes to Hillerød every 10 minutes but does not go through the city but take the F-line route instead over Flintholm/Nørrebro. If you come from the city you need to take either the A-line to Ryparken and change there to the E-line or take the metro to Flintholm where you can take the E-line, as well as on any other stop along the F-line of course. Remember that you need to pay for your bike on the metro (it's free only on the S-train). So check beforehand which train you need to take to be at Hillerød station by 13:00.
Please let us know latest by Thursday, July 12, if you are taking part. If the weather is going to be terrible then we will cancel but we will try to go through with it even if they predict some rain.
